Subam Fetal Clinic > Treatments > Fetal Echocardiogram

Cardiac defects are amongst the most common birth defects. Fetal echo is done to see the structure and function of your unborn child’s heart [fetal heart]. It’s typically done in the second trimester, between 18 to 24 weeks. It can take 30 minutes to 2 hours to get the picture needed to see all the parts of the heart. Sometimes, the position of the baby can make it hard to see the heart and the test will take longer.
