This test can identify a pregnancy with increased chance of Down syndrome (Trisomy 21) and Edwards syndrome (Trisomy 18). This test involves the pregnant woman having a blood test between 9 and 13 weeks gestation and an ultrasound (NT Scan) between 11 and 13 weeks of gestation. A neural scan or Nuchal translucency scan/procedure is a Sonographic prenatal screening scan to detect chromosomal abnormalities in a fetus.
